MRS. TANNER
Mrs. Tanner has recently announced to the public that she will be leaving Ridge Road Middle School in March of 2017, to start another school. Many students at Ridge Road Middle School are sad to see her go. Mrs. Tanner did a stellar job as principal, earning multiple awards including the Principal of the Year! She has been with this school since the absolute beginning when it opened in 2009. For almost eight years, Mrs. Tanner has taken care of this school as if it were her child, constantly making sure the floors are clean and the students are respectful. She has treated us with immense kindness, but also as adults. We have made countless memories with her. We stood alongside her while we made this school the safest and most successful, as well as the most fun school in all of CMS. We will all miss you Mrs. Tanner, especially the teachers who were there with you since the school opened its doors, but we also wish you the best of luck with your new school

Before the school’s doors even opened, many articles spoke about Ridge as if it was a low-income, below average school with nothing special about it with no proof. As time went on, Mrs. Tanner raised their expectations, with an increase in test grades and a ton of parents volunteering, according to the Charlotte Observer.
